The Amityville Horror. A True Story.

Englewood Cliffs, NJ: Prentice Hall, 1977.

First edition / First printing. Octavo. Hardcover. A very good copy in a very good dust jacket. Item #2462

True first edition, first printing. The true, terrifying story of the Lutz family and the house they fled from 28 days after moving-in on December 18, 1975. Complete number line and $7.95 jacket price intact. An apparently unread copy, but with a binding issue which has caused a few pages to come detached internally. Not a book club edition, which is primarily what is available, along with later printings. Basis for the 1979 film of the same name, starring James Brolin, Margot Kidder and Rod Steiger, and 2005 remake starring Ryan Reynolds and Melissa George.

Very good in like dust jacket, with some rubbing to corners and edges, light wear to extremities, and two small closed tears, one on upper edge of back panel and the other on upper edge of back flap. Overall a wonderful copy, far superior to what is usually found or available. Very scarce in its first printing state, and partcularly in this condition.
