New York: Simon & Schuster, 1962. First edition / First printing, Octavo, Hardcover. A fine copy in a fine dust jacket.

Considered one of the masterworks of Ray Bradbury's now fifty-six year career, "Something Wicked This Way Comes" uses the common human fears of aging, death and loneliness to comment on the human condition and the American way of life. Written as a companion piece to his summer-reminiscent novel, "Dandelion Wine," Bradbury journeys into autumn and finds his characters struggling with mortality and the price one must pay to toy with fate. He considers the full length novel, which is one of only two in his long writing career, as one of his best works.

"Something Wicked This Way Comes" has seen multiple versions on both the screen and stage. Jack Clayton's film version from 1983 stars Diane Ladd, Jason Robards, and Jonathan Pryce. The novel was also adapted for the stage and debuted at Bradbury's Pandemonium Theatre Company in Los Angeles in 2003, under the direction of Alan Neal Hubbs, who also directed the 1971 version of Bradbury's "The Martian Chronicles."

Fine in a fine dust jacket with just a hint of rubbing to corners and spine panel ends, and a very short closed tear to the rear panel. Publisher's price of $4.95 on front flap present.

A bright, clean and superb copy of this Bradbury classic.
